Professor Lena Gipperth (University of Gothenburg) and Dr Thomas Muinzer (University of Aberdeen) presented on regenerative legal frameworks for biodiversity and climate resilience, and CCS in the context of the net zero transition.

Professor Ignacio Herrera Anchustegui (University of Bergen) explored Venezuela's energy landscape as a case study of how geopolitical tensions, regulatory uncertainty, and decarbonization intersect, with an introduction to the COAST Law Center.

Professor Dr Catherine Banet (University of Oslo) discussed key legal and policy elements influencing the CCS value chain, including liability, CO₂ transport, and regulatory incentives.

The project's major conference will examine legal frameworks governing carbon capture, transportation and storage across international, EU and maritime law. The call for papers has been published and proposals are welcome on topics including liability regimes, transboundary governance, regulatory gaps and the interaction between climate policy and marine environmental protection.
